About Department :
Chemistry department was established in the year 1983. Mr. E. B. Pathan worked as Head of the Department from 1983 to 2002. From 2002-2013, Dr. J. K. Patil worked as a Head and Dr. S. A. Kamble worked as Head of the Department up to 31st 2024. Dr. S. B. Jirage is presently working as head of department since 2024-25.Department has succeeded in commencing the M.Sc. Program in Physical Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry respectively. Now, the department has been offering UG and PG Programs for students of Islampur and adjoining rural areas. Many students have benefitted by these programs and now they are serving the society in different ways and contributing national development. The department has signed Memorandum of Understanding with Rajarambapu Patil Sahakari Dudh Sangh, Islampur, Dist. Sangli, which is an ISO 2009 Unit.
Vision :
Enrichment of the students with knowledge of chemical science and trained them with required analytical skills to serve the society and contribute in the national development.
Mission :
- Regular theory lectures to strengthen theoretical knowledge of chemical science.
- Conducting experimental work to provide practical knowledge and analytical skills of the subject.
- Organization of industrial/study visit for supportive on-site practical knowledge of different stages in industrial units.
- Arranging co-curricular activities to support the experiential learning of chemical science.
- Periodical assessment of student for evaluation of attainments.
- Organization of various events to promote participative learning.
