History Department was established in the year 1972. Thus the department is offering UG and PG course for students of Islampur and adjoining rural area. Many students have benefitted and now serving the society and contributing in national development. The department has remarkable capacity to adapt to changes and at the same time pursue the goals and objectives. It has been playing significant role in capacity building of students to cater to the needs of the society and the country as a whole. It has also been contributing to the national development by serving the causes of social justice ensuring equity. There are 4 faculty members actively engaged in the teaching and extension activities. Teachers are constantly devising interesting methods such as expert lectures, seminars, workshops, value added certificate courses.
