Library Sections

 

1) Circulation Section:
This section manages the issue and return of books and other reading materials. It provides membership, maintains borrower records and offers services such as book reservation, renewal and clearance certificates. The circulation counter remains open from 08:00 am to 05:00 pm to serve students, staff and visitors effectively.

2) Reference Section:
The reference section contains important and rare reference materials such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, yearbooks, atlases and competitive exam books. These resources are meant for consultation within the library and are useful for in-depth study and research.

3) Periodical Section:
The library subscribes to 64 periodicals including journals and magazines, along with 10 daily newspapers. This section helps students and faculty stay updated with the latest research, current events and general knowledge. Periodicals are arranged systematically for easy access.

4) Stack Section:
The stack section houses the main collection of textbooks, subject-related books and general reading materials. Books are arranged according to a classification system (Dewey Decimal Classification / other) to facilitate quick retrieval. Users can browse and select books for borrowing.

5) OPAC Section:
The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) section provides computer terminals for students and staff to search books and other resources available in the library. It helps users locate required materials by author, title, subject or keyword without difficulty.

6) New Arrival Section:
This section displays the newly added books, journals and other resources in the library. It helps users stay informed about the latest additions to the collection. Displaying new arrivals encourages readers to explore updated knowledge.

7) Reading Room for Students and Separate Staff Reading Room:
The library provides a spacious reading room for students, offering a quiet and comfortable environment for study. In addition, a separate reading room is available for teaching and non-teaching staff for academic reading, preparation and research purposes.

8) Periodicals Bound Volumes Section:
Old journals and magazines are preserved in bound volumes in a separate section. This facility allows users to refer to back issues of periodicals for research and academic purposes, thus providing continuity of information resources.
